Herbs, stoloniferous, decumbent, covered with septate hairs, stems square, villous.
Leaves petiolate; petioles villous, 1–3 cm long; blades 2–3 cm long, 2–3 cm wide, broadly to very broadly ovate, base cuneate, truncate to subcordate, apex obtuse to rounded, margins coarsely serrate or lobed, both surfaces villous.
Flowers axillary verticillate; bracteoles minute, linear, villous; calyx 8–10 mm long, tubular-campanulate, villous, 5-toothed, teeth equal or nearly so, triangular, minutely acuminate, spine-like, ca. 4 mm long; corolla tubular-campanulate, 1.2–1.5 cm long, glabrous or minutely hairy, bilabiate, upper lip erect, ovate, concave, 7–8 mm long, lower lip spreading, 3-lobed, 6–7 mm long, central lobe large; stamens 4, didynamous, lower pair longer, anthers 2-celled, divergent; stigma bifid.
Nutlets trigonous, smooth.
